Olympic Harriers were amongst the placegetters, in this very popular event, with Chris Speakman 3rd in the 21K (1:17 - which compares favourably with his half-marathon PB), and Mark Anderson 3rd in the 10k (37.46). Miles Coverdale was cruelly robbed of a certain top 10 placing and sub-41 min time in the 10k when he, along with others, were mistakenly sent on an extra 1k loop. Liz Anderson recorded a PB 49.18 in the 10k. |

Black Programme, Newtown Park (off-site). A lovely fine, hot and calm afternoon. Just perfect for running laps of a track (or sunbathing outside - depending on your point of view). The heat made the going tough but the athletes certainly appreciated the lack of headwind up the back straight. Dana Hastie, Renee Wein and Caterina Berke tackled the 400m/800m double, Matt Singleton took on the 800m/3000m double, while Mike Waterman, Lyndon McGaughran and Gordon Blacklaws concentrated all their energy on the 3000m.
