3 peaks running series - race 2, Scottish Harriers clubrooms Sunday, 16 Jun 2013, 08:00 to 12:00
The 3 events are as follows:

Sunday 26-May: Odells Reserve (206m) Tinakori Hill (Wadestown end) (300m) Brooklyn Turbine (300m)

Sunday 16-Jun: Chartwell Substation (200m) Makara Rd Saddle (200m) Wrights Hill (358m)

Sunday 28-Jul: Kingston Heights (170m) Mt Albert (182m) Mt Crawford Prison (163m)

Race registration & entry fee: You can pre-enter using internet banking or on the day from 7-30am at Wellington Scottish club rooms (south end of Prince of Wales Park, Salisbury Tce, Mt Cook). Entry fee is $12 per event or $30 for all 3 events if paid at Event 1. To pre-enter, deposit the entry fee by internet banking into the Wellington Scottish Athletics Club account 38-9005-0501833-00 with your name as the reference by Thursday before each event.

Race start and finish: Start anytime between 8am and 9am from Wellington Scottish club rooms (Prince of Wales Park, Mt Cook). You must be finished by 12 noon. We will record your start time and finish. Walkers may start earlier of they like.

Race route: You may take any route and run the Peaks in any order. Just look for the marshal at the top of the peak and get your race number checked off. We will have maps at the start line showing you where the marshals will be. If you don’t feel like doing all 3 peaks, you may do 2 or even 1. Just let the marshal at the finish know what peaks you didn’t complete.

Pre and Post race refreshments: Toilets, showers, and changing rooms are available at the Wellington Scottish club rooms. There will be complimentary hot and cold drinks and snack food at the finish line.

We have another great range of sponsored spot prizes up for grabs this year and prizes for the fastest to complete all 3 and 9 peaks. Major sponsors for 2013 are Lifestyle Sports (Dress Smart, Tawa), Ice Breaker, Lake Auto Services, and Repco Petone.

Pack Runs and Walk.

Meet at 1.45pm ready to run or walk at 2pm.

Different packs to suit all abilities, from 30 minute runs at an easy pace to over an hour at 4min/km pace (or faster). Runs may take you off-road. Be prepared for all weather conditions.

2013 details:
Changed for 2013 are some of the junior races which have been combined. There is now a M60+ grade over 6km at 1.00pm.

The counting teams are 6 for senior men, 4 for all other grades.

1.00pm: Open Women, Masters Women 35+, Masters Women 50+, Masters Men 60+ (6 km)
1.30pm: Men Under 20, Women Under 20, Men Under 18, Women Under 18, Boys/Girls Under 15 (4 km)
2.00pm: Boys Under 11, Girls Under 11 (2 km)
2.15pm: Boys Under 13, Girls Under 13 (3 km)
2.30pm: Boys Under 9, Girls Under 9 (1 km)
2.45pm: Open Men, Masters Men 40+, Masters Men 50+ (8 km)

Followed at 3:30 by Tales of a Marathon in Sakai recounted by Michelle van Looy (Oly) and Stephen Day (Sco) who recently ran there as guests of Sakei City which is a sister City for Wellington.

Note: there is not a lot of parking available. You may need to park close by and walk. (Or run.)

Interclub cross country races. Walk from venue.
The race starts on grass in front of badminton Hall.

There is usually very limited parking available in the badminton hall carpark. Parking is best on Alexandra Road or Ruahine Street. In 2013, there is an event at the badminton hall. Do not expect to use their car park or facilities.
