Weekly Newsletter - speedy recovery Mark 23 Jul 2015.

Club pack run/walk from Clubrooms - Sat 25 July - 1:45pm
We have had good turn-outs the last couple of weeks so hope to see young and old along again to enjoy what looks to be a good forecast for running.

Club, combined with Wellington, Champs at Waikanae last week
Thanks yet again to the magical creatures (pixies, elves and perhaps a couple of hob-goblins) that helped combat the weather, organised the prizes, and made sure there were memories to take away (or use as facebook profile pics) last week.  Well done to all those who took away medals: http://www.olympicharriers.nz/results/event.php?eid=1150

Balancing the good news was an unplanned trip to hospital for Mark Handley.  A partial rupture of his Achilles just when he was storming around on his final lap will mean a month in plaster followed by another month in a moon boot. We wish you all the best with your recovery.

A bonus for walkers - Sat 25th QEII Park
Usually this race would coincide with the cross country at Waikanae, but the date was changed to allow for a Scottish team to attend the Harry Kerr Relay in Auckland..

- Location:  QEII park, MacKays Crossing
- Start time:  10:00am
- Distance:  10km & 5km
- Entry Fee:  10km $10;  5km $5
- Course:  Out & back on road within park.  Road is open to traffic
- Facilities:  Toilet block at entrance.  Bring own drinking water
- Spot prizes: there will be a few

Kids Cross Country Series - event 3, Sladden Park, Petone, Sun 26th July
The next in this great series will be out in Petone.  If you need to register on the day get there at 9:30am.  Races start at 10:30 with a quick fire programme that should see it all done my lunchtime.

National Road Relays are coming up in Christchurch on 3 Oct
It is the 75th anniversary and it is a blast running from the edge of town over the Port Hills to Akaroa.  We have accommodation lined up but the places are not unlimited -- contact Brian Rusbridge Brian.Rusbridge@nzct.org.nz to sort things out. Start looking for flights now - there is as much competition in finding the cheapest flight as there is in the race itself!
